Rej is pretty big! Intense black and blue fruits from the Montepulciano, along with plentiful, fine, persistent tannins. The Mataro gives volume in the mid-palate and lends an earthy, rustic character to this blend. Great length of flavour seals the deal. This wine will age gracefully for ten years, if you can wait that long!
Pair with…Slow roasted, fatty meat with a reduction from the pan juices…bellissimo! Also works with eggplant/jerusalem artichokes – the earthiness marries well.
