an Italian monster! Originally from Umbria in central Italy, the grapes for this wine were sourced from McLaren Vale. Sagrantino is among the most tannic red grapes in the world, and it shows in this wine. With time in the glass, the full spectrum of tannins are on display – it’s chock full of fine, chewy tannins that provide tremendous length on the palate coupled with rustic flavours of leather, earth, black fruits and lifted violet aromas. One for the cellar, or decant vigorously and enjoy now with slow-roasted lamb shoulder.
